Thread: The iPod Photo

Arkanoid on the ipod would be amazing.

My 40 gig zen xtra suits my purposes fine. The ipod is a bit slimmer and more professional looking. That's the only real difference I've notied, besides the ipod's scroll wheel, which I personally don't like.

That's not even the one I have...I have the slightly older model I suppose.

The iPod photo is nice, but if you're not a photographer, or have much of a need for photos on the go, this is useless.
Maybe if you would have checked up on apple.com at any one time during this year, you would have seen they now have instructions to replace your own battery at only $45, and it's surprisingly easy. That problem was eliminated over a year ago.

  6. Wow, only 45 bucks for something that should either last or recharge for a few years without fail?

    Score...

If they were going to give the thing a color LCD at least give the thing the ability to playback quicktime files and make it somewhat worthwhile.
Why would people need the feature of playing back quicktime files on their cell phone? That's about as useful as... wait for it... viewing photo's on your brand new iPod Photo!

Well maybe you can stream something like CNN on your cell phone, but it sounds pretty freaking useless. I think the greatest invention I've used with my cell phone is having a built in AM/FM radio. I use that more than I actually use my phone, and if I want to hear about current events straight away.

Personal MP3/Videoplayer with 20gig HD and is roughly same size as an Ipod mini, plays games too.
I was talking specifically about Microsoft Personal Media Centers, or whatever they are called, as that was what was brought up. What you showed goes right back to the "OMG the screen is too small!" argument that some are making, which is why the PMCs were brought up.

Have you used one of those? From every review of them I've read, one movement from top to bottom on the "scroll bar" moves you only a few songs down your list. So, if you want to get from top to bottom, you have to sit there running your finger up and down it over and over and over. Great for practice to use on your girl, not great for an MP3 player interface.

Well, they do already come with a few games. Nothing mind blowing, but you know. And there have been rumors of Apple putting out more information so that people can make iPod software easier.

I would love to see Arkanoid / Breakout / something similar on it. It'd be perfect.

Er... it's there, heh. Even on my 2G 20GB iPod.
