Thread: I so have to move

  1. #41
Well I still think from a strategic standpoint gay people should push for civil unions first, then move on to marriage. You gotta be realistic about this. Yes it would be fucking awesome if gays got to marry but shit doesn't happen that fast. Not even minorities got equal rights all on the same day. Why do Gay people think they can change the world faster than people fighting something as huge as racism?

As the article says this will eventually probably be struck down. All it will take is ONE couple married in the state that does not approve this amendment to move to one of the states that did, and challenge it, and bingo, it will be kicked out.

Parker said some of the litigation may center on the "full faith and credit" clause of the U.S. Constitution, which says states must accept other states' judicial proceedings. A Massachusetts court has approved gay marriage in that state.

  2. Bah! Let gays have the damn civil unions. All they're asking for is the same legal rights as any other couple. What they do in thier bedroom is between them and God. I don't give a damn.

Once you start talking about invading my church with this nonsense, however, that's when I break out the katana blades.

Let's make sure people are clear on this. Their lack of dental care isn't an issue like the Brits lack dental care, it's that Japanese people tend to not fix their crooked / offset teeth to the degree that we Americans do.

Personally, unless it's really bad, it doesn't bother me one bit.

I don't think anyone's mentioned the "Gays is gonna pwn yer church act" yet. Its a legal status issue, anything else is between people and their churches, which last time i checked, government doesn't telll religion to do jack nor shit legaly. Church no likely the homofag, fine, they go marry in another church that doesn't come equiped with KAtana blades at the alter.

I think we really need to split this country in two. Like, make a fully East to West Mason-Dixon line or something.

Nah just put the West/East coast on notice that they're getting their own continent. Middle America is getting a new beach front. That or trade the blue states for Quebec.

I tend to agree. I'm getting really sick of the religious right's increasing stranglehold on our nation. Dictating things according to one religion, especially in such a diverse nation as ours, can only lead to trouble.

Middle America (states like Ohio, Florida, Michigan) dictates its fate. They are generally democrats that will vote Republican (see Reagan, Bush) or they will vote Democrat (see Carter, Clinton). They are the real power holders in this country.

Saying the religious right has all the power, is like saying the Al Sharpton's and Micheal Moore's of the world control the Democrats and thier policies. It's not true.

The people you should be mad at are the voters who are 18-24. Only 1-2 out of every ten even bothered to vote. That's a pretty atrocious turn out.

  9. Goddamn kids (lol)

Anyhow, Repubs have a majority in both houses now, a president without a reelection and a supreme court about to go conservative for the next 20-40 years. Lets see if the the Republican party is the savior of our nation, our destroyer or just another political party.

  10. Give me the jap girls, crooked teeth and all.
