BR + Grenades definitely. I love the plasma pistol combo, but I'm either not good enough with it or it's too hit-or-miss to use unless there isn't anything better around. I'd rather take the plasma rifle/pistol combo and dual wield.

As for Collosus, I agree that shotgun whores and sniper rifle bitches are the worst on that level, but as long as you are not chasing the sniper rifle, and they are chasing you there should be no problem with victory. Or as long as you have the sniper rifle. Also the most underused best combo on that level is easily the Plasma Pistol/Pistol combo, they are literally dead within 2-3 shots. 1 fully charged from the plasma, and 1 or 2 to the head with the magnum and BLAM dead. That should easily dispose of any shotgun whores who think they have the better close range weapon. The only real effective way I have found to counter the sniper rifle is with the thousands of Battle Rifles hanging out around the map, hit them before they hit you and they can't zoom in on yah!

I've read through the first hundred pages so far and it's really, really good. The author (who was the director of animation for "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?") took everything he learned from the old-school Disney animators and put it in his book. He even addresses computer animators in some of the lessons. I'm already getting my money's worth, and I haven't reached the good stuff yet.Originally Posted by BrAnDX105
The plasma rifle/magnum combo is good if you're in tight quarters. However, out in the open field, it's a lot harder to hit someone with the plasma rifle unless you can intelligently lead your shots. I prefer the plasma pistol because the blast tracks your opponent, but the plasma/magnum combo is not that great if you're facing more than one opponent. Usually I use plasma/SMG, but after reading what Cow wrote, I realize that I could be more effective if I dual wield with a magnum.Originally Posted by Cowutopia

I have found that the Plasma Pistol is surprisingly along the lines of the sword where you charge up the pistol, let your cursor turn red on the person you want to shoot, and it will home in ONLY on the person that was under your read cursor when you let go of the trigger. This differs from 1 where you could shoot it randomly into a battle of 2 people and it would automatically home in by itself regardless of aim.
Far more skill involved, but man does it rape people.

Also, I forgot to ask, even though this is completely off topic, are you in the animation industry?

I was playing a 3 on 3 custom game on collosus, and they got:
1 man with the sniper rifle and a shot gun
1 man with the battle rifle and plasma pistol
1 man with the battle rifle and another shotgun
The sniper wiped us out by spawn killing, while the BR/plasma pistol guy took our shields down from their spawn, all while the br/shotgun guy did flag runs.
We we're pretty much stuck on defending. It was a real pain in the ass. Everytime he got the flag and you chased him, BR/plasma man wiped your shields out. the flag guy then tossed the flag and would shotgun you to the head. All while sniper guy kills people running at the flag man.
Once they found this rhythm out, they were pretty much unstoppable.
Well, that's two nights that I no-showed, but I'll be sure to make it up tonight. I intend to get on after 10 PM EST, and am looking to play until 3 AM at the very least.
Nope. I took a Continuing Education class at the Pratt Institute in New York called Basic Drawing for Animation. The Animator's Survival Kit was recommended by my professor, who was a teaching assistant to one of the old-school Disney animators. I'm reading that and Preston Blair's Cartoon Animation before I take Animation I in the Spring term. This is the first stage of my long-term plan to get into this program.Originally Posted by BrAnDX105

Damn, that's just when I left. The place is a real shit-hole these days. Willoughby has to be the worst place to live.Originally Posted by Cowdisease
Their pizza place blows, too. And to stay on-topic, their internet network was so damn slow XBL didn't work on it.
Is anyone else going to be on later tonight? If not, I'm going to play San Andreas instead.
