If there was a smaller turnout then last time than why would they keep open the polls for longer then usual and give the reason of an extra-large turnout?

One more thing: How can the same percentage be less than itself?

10 of 100 is 10% 100 of 1000 is still 10%. So the ratio remained the same.


My statistics are nationwide (Yahoo News .. too lazy to link to it). Overall turnout was greater ... but blacks didn't rise above thier 1/10 voting ratio.


I'll be curious to see what the results say, when they are all tallied.

Something worth noting:

At the time of Bush's arrest for DUI (1975? 1976?), the BAC (blood alcohol content) cutoff in most states was 0.15. States didn't start lowering it untill MADD and the federal government got on their backs, first to .10 and then most recently .08. Today, a .15 or above in most jurisdictions gets you an extreme DUI and a mandatory jail term of 10 days.

Speaking as a person who defends a lot of DUI cases, you have to be really fucking stupid, a hardcore alcoholic, or both to get behind a wheel with 0.15 BAC.

It depends. I'm not exactly light (180lbs) and had a .08 BAC after four beers stretched out over a five hour period. According to that website I should've been at .02. Of course I hadn't eaten anything all day, but still. I'm still half convinced the test was rigged.

I know. Like I said, it might've been rigged. The cop lied his ass off in court about my sobriety test, too. He said I was stumbling around when I walked the straight line and had to put my arms out to keep myself steady when I stood on one leg and counted backwards from 30, both or which are total bullshit. Of course they aren't allowed to give you the breathalyzer unless you fail the sobriety test, so he had to pretend I did.
