Suggestions for improving the TNL forums

Even if you made it a few hours or a day, wouldn't that be enough to stop spam bots from working? I'm not saying, I'm asking.

But if it would be, I don't see any reason why new members need or deserve to be able to post new threads in their first day. Posts sure, but why a thread?

You should use your forum specific banning more often. For example, if say, Diff derails a nintendo thread (heaven forbid), ban him from gaming discussion for a while. The cry babies will be happy that he's gone for a while while still allowing him to contribute to the other areas.
