Thread: Official World of Warcraft Thread

  1. You guys are only reading what's posted by whiners on TNL and judging our raid by that. You're not reading about the 5-8 RF guys that are in every single raid all the time with no complaints and kicking ass. Lauris has 5 out of 8 Cenarion pieces. He looks like a tree now.

The only people in RF that are iffy on being in the raids are rogues because they are rogues. The only people in RF whining on TNL about the raids are rogues. Rogues aren't wanted anywhere at level 60, by anyone. RF loves all of our rogues, but the simple fact is that there are about 5000 rogues for every 1 priest and 1 warrior. Statistically, they're going to get boned.

That's not what I'm concerned with. it's this:

What happens when the rest of us in RF get to 60? You guys were still playing when some of us hadn't started (or in my case stopped playing), raided together, wiped together, learned them together, so what happens when those of us that are part of TNL and RF get up there and have no clue what we're doing because we're running raids weeks after you guys have them down? Do we look for pickup raids (HA!) to do practice runs? It sounds like job-hunting: They won't hire you until you have experience but you can't get experience until they hire you.

Maybe some of us will get in, maybe the comments I'm seeing like Taishan's are just a way of trying to tread lightly around excess rogues and the newbie freeloaders, but it's making it seem like some of us don't have a very bright future at 60 if we feel like doing anything organized until RF grows to twice its size. I know, you can't please everyone all the time and shutting out veterans just because some new guys have finally gotten up there would tick people off, not to mention how if something like when I get to 60 I'm suddenly allowed in all the time while Faceguy or Despair gets kicked despite how they contributed so much more time it's totally understandable why they would be mad, but it seems we're entering a bad situation. We don't have enough people to do it ourselves but we have too many people to team up and keep everyone happy.

Perhaps this is just something that needs to be waited out until we can grow. I don't know everything, I haven't been able to join you guys, this is just how it looks to me from back here.

    Hmm, well put.

Im really not going to bitch at all or worry about the whole situation until I hit 60, though.Me, you, and the other half of RF have a ways to go before we reach 60 ....(well except for Mman and Thief who will both probably hit it by the end of the month at the rate they are playing) so there is time for Alliances to shift, people to quit the game, join the game, whatever. Right now I dont have time to worry about Molten Core , a twig crotch piece, or how badly Onyxia is going to own me. I need to worry about Uldaman and some 6 other non-raid instances I havent run yet, scraping some cash together for a mount, doing some more BG (in Alterac Valley or WG) in which Alliance members actually win, etc., etc.

I think there is a lot of fun to be had from the game in between my current level and level 60. I'll worry about all of these huge-ass raids when the time comes....

We're doing this because it's the only way in for us at the moment, and we want to learn the instance inside and out. It's been 3 weeks and, Ragnaros aside, we've done that. Gotten some nice loot, to boot.

We're recruiting so that we can regularly have a good mix 20 60s on at a time. At that point, we can join up with maybe just ONE other good-sized guild and be good to go, maybe with no DKP or whatever.

There's PLENTY to do at 60 before Molten Core. Shit, MC is heavily gear-dependent, so it's almost a requirement to be a WELL-EQUIPPED 60 before you go in. Which means a lot of BRD, Scholo, Strat, and the BRSs runs.

When we're ready, when we're able to, we'll find another MC solution, I promise.

My only disagreement with that was that they kept their own rogues in and even brought another one in, after kicking out one of ours, and few other newbie players. But its all old drama anyway.

We shall see how the new plan will be incremented. Again, the only thing that is kinda worrysome is that in the stated message, is that they reserve right to kick out the player AT ANYTIME, when player with more superiority finds the desire to be in. That part is confusing, as can this happen for example when we are in mid raid, fighting Garr, and then one of Venerate rogues whos been there from the beginning gets on and decided he wants to join up the party, will that mean someone with less attendance and DKP will be kicked out, even though he/she was there from the beginning of the raid? Or it all will be decided right before the start? (which it should, if its going to be done that way).

I am still having problems with Epoch forums Damn thing lists me as member, but I cant activate it, since I never received the email with activation link. Damn.

  6. I understand being concerned with not being able to attend but that shouldn't be up to the alliance. What I mean that is Say we have Mzo and Mechbunny are both well out level 60 paladins. They don't need another paladin they say, but the last few runs Mzo has been going, so instead of going again he decides to let Mechbunny represent RF for him. It shouldn't be the responsibility of the alliance to make sure that different people within guilds get the chance to enjoy the high level raid experiance, it should be within the guild where people decide who can attend as they hit 60.

That kinda came out cluster fucked but I hope you get the point I'm trying to make. If they feel that the raid can handle whatever the task then people should be able to have someone of the same class or an acceptable class needed to replace them by choice. This way it's spread out.

You say plenty, then list four, tired instances that each have to be run over and over and over again. You just described WoW's end game in a nut shell.

  8. Yoshi you been playing horde characters at all to get that end of the game? Cause I'd probably whip out my shaman on Gorefiend and level that up to group with yah.

  9. It would be silly to not hit 60 because of this. I started playing WOW in December and turned 60 at the end of April. That's roughly 5 months with some breaks in between. Everything was still new and we didnt have any high level guildmates to fly through instances with--we had to learn from our mistakes and move slowly. I still had plenty of unfinished quests and I didn't even start getting set pieces until I was 60. I've ran all the 10-15 man raid instances several times but a bunch of us still need the 5-man quests for them and this is after being 60 for 3 months. I had no expectation of getting into MC or seeing Onyxia until just recently. In short, hitting 60 is just the beginning--MC, Ony, etc is not the be all and end all of the game.

I'm still pretty low over there, though I like the horde side a LOT more. I want to say my undead warrior is level 15-16. I'll keep grinding on him.
