  2. How is this game? I've played every MMORPG and Everquest 1 started that all. I like MMORPGs but none of them have kept my attention for too long. City of Heroes was awesome at first but had nothing to keep my interest. WoW is awesome but not out yet. (played stress test).... and FFXI had no soloing which I like to do sometimes.

  3. Dear god the game is... well so far, excellent. It's definatly got my attention from the beginning better than Everquest did at first.

First off the graphics: Dear god I did not think you could do graphics that slick in a MMO game... the animations, textures and the size of places like Antonica (IT's MASSIVE) is just blowing my mind.

Gameplay: Go up, initialize a fight, and Like FFXI the encounter locks, at first it seemed like a bad idea but it works well enough. Call for help the encounter breaks, or if you run like hell the other way that works as well. You get a skill at each level, which does make every level feel more valuable than those every 4 or so in Everquest.

Techniques you can use them, they each have their own timer Meaning you can do some heafty comboage. But they also created what's called a heroic opportunity system, what you do is you activate it, then a certain attack if matching will flash, you do this to begin the heroic oppurtiity which is basicaly like a special attack. But in a group combinations of attacks from each character can contribute to advancing the opportunity. I don't quite have it perfected or anything, but I can do a pretty simple one

Start Heroic Opportunity -> Wild Swing (Begins one of three attacks I"ve seen so far, don't know how it decides) -> Taunt to finish the attack ranging from normal damage to like 40 at level 7.

Class System is completely different though, you start off as a level 1 commoner, then when you get to the newbie island you tell a certain guy which main class (Fighter, Priest, Mage, Scout) you want to be. Then you go on as that class till level 8 where you can start your class quest, and at level 10 after completing it you can chose a class within the main category you picked. Then at level 20 I guess you get another quest to pick your specific sub class. Mine will be like this

    Fighter - Brawler - Monk.

Also for tradeskills you can find like roots or rocks that you can highlight and harvest to get materials out of, this gives you something to do when health is low.

  5. Heh already did, playing right now but I have to go in a few minutes.

  6. Truth.

And oh, on the Isle of Refuges, try and do as many of the quests as you can, and call the named enemies, namely Bladefin, the ghost pirate captain, find the guys parts, kill the goblin siege planner.

The drops help immensely in the early game.

  7. Yep quests are very helpful not only for items but you gain experience as well by completing them, I've done quite a few quests so far on the island so far myself.

I'm aiming to get Druid class and then Warden subclass later ^..^

  8. #28
I am definitely disappointed in you, Werewolf, for getting EQ2 over WoW.

  9. WOW sucks though.

  10. I was undecided on which to get really, I went with EverQuest II since EverQuest has been around a long time so they have lots of experience with them and well... I like the Druid wolf form

I updated the thread a bit, that should make it easier for people to see who's on the TNL server and view character jobs, levels, etc..
