i tired wow, and while i didnt hate it, i didnt like it very much. it was nowhere near eq2's depth, no character customization, and the racial selection just sucked ass, it was pretty much the mmo for the lowest common denomonator. but i have tried eq2 already and have made peace with the changes. even simplified, its still not as dumbed down as wow, and the community cant possibly be worse.
