Did anyone buy that Halo 2 headset?

My right ear can't take anymore punishment from the official model. I'm really tempted to get it, but at $50? Meh. From the few sources that I've read all have said it is worth the money. Anyone have it?

I have it. I got it fairly cheap and it is not worth it. I fucking hate it. The sound is cheasy like you're listening to a phone call through a tin can.

The only thing I like about it is you can rest the back of your head on a chair without it fucking with the headset. Other than that, it's worthless.

Set the game to have voices come through your speakers, and then wear the official mic around your neck. I do this and it is awesome.

I used the Halo 2 headset one night and didn't really like it. Definitely not worth fifty bones, especially since it doesn't even come with a communicator box.

First, I couldn't get it to fit on my tiny head. I could never get the stupid thing over my ear correctly.

Then, the mouth piece poked me in the eye.
