Thread: Mario Baseball

    Nintendo GameCube Mario Baseball

    IGN Article

    1) Clearly this is a proper response from a company that claims there is a current Crisis in Video Gaming.
    2) So if the sport-game-purchasing-casual-gamers are the ones ruining the industry, what does that make the people who buy this?

  2. MLB Slugfest proved that even in an arcade-type setting, you can't make baseball more "exciting" than it already is. It's just baseball.
    Play Guitar Hero //

  3. I get a feeling this game will be like the classic "Dusty Diamond's All-Star Softball" on the NES. The graphics were junk, but the ability to pick your teammates (schoolyard style), and each one having different abilities ... made the game horribly addicting to play.

So yea .. Mario Baseball, new Zelda and a new (2D) Kirby game ... looks like I'll be buying a cube finally.

    So basically..

    Play Guitar Hero //

  5. Well ya that would be a good example also.

  6. It's being made by Namco. This marks their 10th collaberation with Nintendo (including Ridge Racer 64, Soul Calibur 2, the Tri-Force board, Pac-Man Vs, Donkey Konga 1-3, Ridge Racer DS & Star Fox Assault). Plus Nintendo Europe's been publishing their GC games recently... these two comapnies have gotten extremely close this generation, which is funny considering Namco was the first 3rd party to try and break from Nintendo (twice in a row actually).

  7. Why can't they stop putting Mario in every general-genre game that they make?

    IAWTP.

I kinda wish he'd go back to his days of just guest starring in them.

Still, if it's fun, it's fun.

  9. What I actually find even more ironic is the fact that Nintendo brags about innovation, yet some of their more recent games are deratives of pre-existing titles (i.e: Mario Golf was a derative of Hot Shots Golf, Donkey Konga was based on Taiko no Tatsujin and this might as well be Namco's latest Famista title).

    What Shidoshi said.

Too much fucking Mario and Donkey Kong these days.
