Okay, I'm going to tell you this one more time. Dragonball Z is marketed here as a CHILDREN'S SHOW. Regardless of it's status elsewhere as a show for adolescent to young adult males, it started off here as a show for young boys. Pioneer felt it had a better chance to make them money as a children's show, so they went to great lengths in order to move it in that direction. This is the origin of the "HFIL" censor.Originally Posted by remnant
After episode 52, Funimation bought the rights to the show. They were more eager to market the show to adolsecent males, so much of the blood and long, drawn out "drag" episodes returned, along with some crappy voice actors. However, they STILL could not show the word "HELL" scrawled on a T-shirt, as it was meant for DAYTIME, AGAIN, MID-AFTERNOON programming aimed at adolescent males. The show has a Y7 rating, man. They must abide by certain regulations set forth by their cable owner.
Adult Swim's programming is all MA14, which allows it certain liberties unavailable to shows with lower age ratings. DBGT is being marketed the same way as DBZ was, and its airing began in the mid-afternoon as well, to reach its target demographic.
There is no evil FCC warlord laughing in his dark, echoing office/dungeon as he makes cash angels. The system is set up to work a certain way, and with a little bit of research, you can easily find out why things are the way they are.
Ejem... just for everyone to know, this game sucks balls.
