Thread: snes repair?

  1. snes repair?

i can't find anything on google.

it works after a bunch of cart wiggling and reseting. but if it gets slightly nudged or knocked around it'll mess up.

I'm guessing i have to bend the pins like on a nes.

i found it at a flea market with 10 games and 4 controllers for 5 bucks. sounds cool, but 3 of the controllers have buttons that don't work and the snes is wonky.

  2. open up the controllers and look for contacts that aren't making, uh.... contact.

  3. yeah i did that. cleaned it too. and the buttons worked after that but some have to be pressed really hard.

i'm more concerned with the system though. i'm surprised i can't find anything on google.

I have a bunch of those "special" screwdriver heads so i might be able to open it.

  4. Did you clean the cartridge port?

  5. i didn't clean it yet. is the best way just to reach in there with some acohol and a q-tip?

  6. i tried to make my own screwdriver to open the snes by heating the end of a plastic pen then pushing it against the screw, but the plastic was too weak. dammit, i'll have to buy one.

  7. is it the tri-wing tip?

it's worth getting one, since i believe that opens most nintendo stuff.
MK2 on XBLA plz - let the unfolding of gameplay begin!!
