Damn right. It's hard to say with McGwire because the season he broke the record was damn near the only season in his career he was healthy.Originally Posted by Yoshi
Well, McGwire did hit 49 HR as a relatively scrawny rookie, so he had the swing.Originally Posted by Master

He admitted to using andro, which has since been banned, but that would only offer a slight performance boost.Originally Posted by Kano on the Phone
Bonds and Giambi should be banned for life, just like Rose. The same sentence should be imposed for all cheaters of any sort.
Oh man I'd love to see Bonds banned right before he broke the record.

If someone walked up to you and said "Here, stick this needle in your ass and you'll be better at baseball," would you ask questions?
Hey, look, I hate WWE. Stupid crap for, in my opinion, people of low intelligence.
However, WWE wrestlers are athletes. WWE is not a sport because there isn't any competition in the actual performance since it is scripted, but those guys aren't a special effects unit or something - they're doing those stunts. Anyone ever watch Rey Mysterio? Just because it's written that his charater is supposed to be all over the ring and swinging on the ropes like a monkey doesn't make him capable of it: he's capable because he's an athlete. The same goes for the rest of 'em.
Yeah, they're actors, too, but that doesn't suddenly negate the fact that they are strong and fit and have to do exercises to maintain that. Competition off-screen (i.e. trying to make a character that Vince will put on stage) is not athletic competition. So they ARE athletes, they're just not competitive on-screen.
That said, if Giambi and Bonds and whoever else used steroids and it can be proven with factual evidence, not speculation based on some clear cream he rubbed on his arms or something, then they should be fined and suspended just like anyone else who broke the rules.
Does it really matter? People have suspected this for a long time ,but the ratings and money revenue for baseball has been growing. I don't this is hurting baseball at all.
Really. They can talk about competition and fair play all they want but it's nowhere near in their best interests to be banning popular players and revoking awards.Originally Posted by remnant
