Thread: Genma Onimusha

Dj, doing the one-hit kill makes the enemies drop health and at least 2x more spirit than they otherwise would. It's great.

Like ss said, the counters help a lot, too. As for the flying orb-stealing things, they're like multipliers. Hit them while they're spinning (getting ready to disappear) to issen them and multiply your spirit points like crazy!

Oh, I know, I only ran into problems where it was of use in that multiple floor dungeon to get a key. I forget the name of it but it's the one where that old man swings down a vine and challenges you to go to the Dark world.

One thing I found tedious [and fun in a way] was the Soul Tug of War where I had to tap A like a madman to suck like one soul up, while someone's hitting me from behind.

I found it to be a pretty easy game, but that's just me. After the first level I really soared through it.

  3. Finished the first one and will not play part 2 or 3. The game is okay, but there are so many other great games I rather play first.

  4. I've only played the first two. They were 10 dollars each and definitely worth it. For 40-50 I would've been pretty pissed.

Now I'm just waiting for Onimusha3 to follow tradition.
"Chuy, you're going to have a magical life. Because no matter where you go, it's always going to be better than Tucson."

  5. The Onimusha trilogy is one of my favorites from this generation, but poor reviews and news of incredible difficulty kept me away from Genma Onimusha. After playing the third installment, I don't think I could play any version of one anyway, it's just missing too many play elements I loved and enjoy. Hell, I don't even think I could play two anymore, no matter how bad I wanted to relive the story.

  8. Onimusha 3 is the only one in the series that is really worth 40 bucks, 15 bucks is a fucking steal.

  9. Played through Genma last year and it really was a pretty good challenge. Can't remember quite how I managed to get through it...I think I made use of the block/counter-attack pretty judiciously and made the most of those health orbs enemies would drop.

And, yeah, that demonic china doll was f-ing freaky. Reminds me of these porcelain dolls my mom used to collect when I was a little kid. She found them cute but I always thought they were a bit on the creepy side. That china doll came disturbingly close to what I imagined those dolls would do if they came to life and attacked me.
    omg TNL epics!
