Thread: Help with car insurance

  1. I like the commercial where she's all environment friendly blasting the shit out of some tree chopper robot thing and rides back home in a Hybrid.
"Chuy, you're going to have a magical life. Because no matter where you go, it's always going to be better than Tucson."

  2. I could swear there was something offered by the state (& by law) to have affordable insurance

something like you have to qualify for a certain income or something

never checked up on that, but does anyone know of it though?

I hope not. I don't need some welfare asshole to hit me. If they can't work, they can't drive.

    I can understand this.

My dad on the other hand thinks I should be making 50k a year and have my own house and it'd be a step backwards if I went onto his insurance.
With your money situation that your mom has, I think hes got the wrong mentality. Putting you on his insurance is a risk if you do get into an accident, but if you dont drive often or long distances, putting you on for 2 years feels like nothing. After 2 years is up, you can branch off to your own.

  5. Progressive is good.

My best advice is to turn 25. Insurance gets pretty cheap then.

  7. Also, it depends what you're driving. If you own a 10yo clunker, you only want liability - ie coverage for somebody else you hit. If you have something newer and better, you also want to protect your investment in your car should something happen to it.

Therefore...if you want to save on insurance, the first step is to own a shitty car you don't care about.

True that. I got a 1995 Ford Taurus that is beat up to shit (thanks to my parents). So as long it takes me from point A to point B, thats all it matters.

    No, that's Jewish.

    That sounds more like Asians.

"I got an uneasy feeling, like when I see an Asian woman behind the wheel of a car..."

  10. State Farm has very reliable insurance, at a decent rate. Geico is a rip-off.
