Thread: Genre Games

  1. Xbox Genre Games

Just bought an X-box and coincidentally two of the three games I bought are period games (the third of course was Halo 2). I really like the games I got and was about to buy Tenchu, but before I did, wanted to take some suggestion on what was the best games for each genre.

    Gangster 1920's - Mafia
Cowboy 1880's -- Red Dead Revolver
    Samurai - Tenchu?
Medieval - Fable or Marrowind or ???
    WWII - ???
    Pirate - ???

Also, if there something better on PS2 or GC let me know...

  2. Gangster 1920's - Mafia
Cowboy 1880's -- Red Dead Revolver
Samurai - Onimusha 1-3, or Otogi (sorta counts)
Medieval - Fable is good, not phenominal.
WWII - I always liked Medal of Honor: Front Line
Pirate - Skies of Arcadia has an air-pirate theme, and there's always Sid Mayer's(sp?) Pirates!

  3. Assuming you're talking about XBOX-only...

    Pirate: Galleon
    Steampunk: Gunvalkyrie
    WWII: Secret Weapons over Normandy

I second the vote for Galleon. I played through it twice and had a blast each time. I just sold it on ebay too.

  8. is the curse of monkey island playable on xbox? yknow, through scummvm? because that's the best pirate game ever. maybe.

  9. No.

And I'm pretty sure Curse isn't running fine in SCUMMVM yet.
