Thread: Dynasty Warriors 5 announced.

  1. Not like the US's or Europe's are much better.
I dunno, FPS and sports games are easily better than those for me. The only thing that saves many of Japan's games is superior art direction.

Anyway, Dynasty Warriors is probably the only franchise I've ever seen get so little slack for churning out title after title with little immediately noticable difference, regardless of if each title is a rehash or not. Many more unique franchises get shit on for the same thing, even with less sequels.
I guess maybe it's the one trick horse kind of thing. The game has so little in the way of functionality, at least starting with DW 2, that any addition to the gameplay seems revolutionary, or at least interesting enough for another rental/purchase.

I dunno about Crimson Sea 2. I saw that, and it was VERY different. Can't speak for the first one, though.
...wasn't there also a Dyansty Tactics game of some sort?

  4. Yeah, 2 of 'em, but they have different gameplay.

The first one was...ok. I'm not the biggest fan of DW, but whenever I play, it's good button mashing fun. I've only played DW3 and Legends. I had no clue they released so many expansions in 4 years. That is way too many titles.

  6. Yeah, strike Crimson Sea off the list. Very different from the DW series, in many ways better actually. I stopped at DW3 and feel like I haven't missed a thing. There's better button mashers out there now to waste my time on.

Every once in a while i want to destroy a controller's square button, or more seriously, open up a mindless can of whoopass on a bunch of assclowns. Basically when I'm too tired to play any other game, but want to zone out without watching the TV, and feel good about it.

Same. To be honest, I feel the series peaked with DW2... and it started with DW2. Funny about that. I didn't really like 3 that much, but I haven't put very much time into it at all, heh.

    Wow... it's like it's the anti-sentence.

wait for it... here comes the ending...

...good about it I play Dynasty Warriors. Or I would anyway, if I would just get around to picking up DW4 at BB for 20 bucks.

So I'm curious Ammadeau, what button masher should I pick up instead?

Actually Chao, that unfinished sentence refers to the "while" in the once in a while that I actually play it.
