I just wish you'd shut the fuck up about Half-Life 2.

... you keep reminding me that I can't play it.

  2. Half-Life 2, for all its being better than Halo 2, has no reason to be mentioned in this thread. Seriously. Maybe, from now on, I'm going to bitch and moan in every thread on any game thats not Ty the Tazmanian Tiger, saying that the game being discussed is "not Ty the Tazmanian Tiger."

YOU MEAN I CAN PAY FIFTY DOLLARS FOR A NEW GTA GAME THATS NOT TY THE TAZMANIAN TIGER? NO THANKS.

Go for it. Nobody will care.

Think of it this way: Doom 3 on a Voodoo 2 card vs Doom 3 on top of the line Nvidia/ATI card. The engine scales really well. Halo 2 was designed the same way.
Never under any circumstance scrutinize the mastication orifice of a gratuitous herbivorous quadruped.

  5. If they tack on online co-op and the last 1/3 of the game (y'know, the REAL battle on earth that we were all expecting), that's not too bad at all. I wonder whether the promise of Halo 2.5 will generate the same kind of hype that existed for Halo 2. Still, under the circumstances, it's probably the smartest move MS can make under for the launch of Xbox 2.
    "Fiends! Animals! Bastards!"

  6. Which goes back to my theory that MS doesn't have a "killer app" available at launch. (Unless you consider Madden a killer app) So they fall back on old reliable to bring out an expansion pack.

It's good business though. Halo-fans believe that Bungie re-invented the FPS, so they are pretty easily duped.

"OMG it has tri-wielding and ultra-legendary modez!! GOTY"

since when was Halo 2 (a game designed with a set console limit to its graphics) made with a scalable engine?

Maybe so, but the fact remains that Halo/Halo 2 has a HUGE fan base. It wouldn't have such a fan base if the game wasn't at the very least a little bit fun.

Normally I would cringe at something like a re-release of a last gen game as the killer app for new hardware. However, a Halo 2.5 would be the exception to the rule.

Personally, I'd rather see Halo 2.5 come out and completely finish the Halo story for good. I want to see something else from Bungie.

I'd love to see a finished version of the Halo 2 single player. I might pay money for that.

considering theyve stated numerous times their next game wasnt going to involve halo.....i dont know how to take all this info about a "remake or continuation".
