I have been given a 1981 DECO cocktail table arcade game, running the "Data East Cassette system". After replacing the power supply, (had no +5v or -5v) The game begins to boot, then hits a "cassette error 32" a tape read error. I've tried cleaning the tape deck head, but to change. I feel the cassette is junk. It has the game "Bump N Jump" in it now.
My question to the membership...
Does anyone have DECO cassette games, with security dogdle, for sale, or trade, or free???
Has anyone been able to hack in a CDrom drive in place of the cassette deck?
Can the Tapes be copied? (I know the game will not work without the security dogdle, but I think mine works)
Have any knowlage or comment on this game?
Please help EZ!
I've already spent $24.99 on a power supply! Failier is NOT an option.
Thanks, EZ

Probably. I have no experience with Deco cassettes but I have copied computer video game cassettes via a double audio cassette recorder before. I don't know if Deco cassettes are standard cassettes or a different size though.Originally Posted by EZone

thanks Neo,
The cassette seems to be the same size as a standard data cassette, though it does have special notches. I have found web sites with the JAMA pinouts, and other sites that have solved the monitor sysc issues, so maybe it time to gutt it and put in a PC.
