Actually it's traded on the black market, prices are always "going down".

The mag gig disagrees with you, and if anyone here failed at life, they'd be dead. Some just suck at it, which is an entirely different issue.

I know the word he means but when I tried to get the correct spelling from Word, I fucked it up so bad Word doesn't know what the hell I'm trying to spell.

  7. It's not that hard to get a mindless office job.

While I was applying to law school, I worked customer service at a local company that sells vitamin supplements. Within a few weeks I was essentially running the entire customer service department and working out of the vice president's office.

Just go to a temp agency, take the first gig that doesn't make you want to shove pencils into your eyeballs at the end of the day, display some basic competency, and you'll soon find yourself climbing the corporate ladder.

Exactly. A friend of mine is on the right foot. He's always been into Media Arts. Before we started going to High he started getting really interested in the domain. Before we even got to College he started freelancing and getting experience in advertising/design/art. He's a couple months away from getting his diploma in Fine Arts and he's already ahead of everyone with 2 jobs and making advertising for the Musee des Beaux Arts downtown. That's the key. Stuffing your portfolio like crazy.

What I hate to see are people in a very popular major and they all expect to get a 50K job off the bat. My College has over 10'000 students, out of 10K, roughly 7400 are in Cinema and Communications or Creative Arts. Abstract, fields like Cinema or Media don't really need a diploma.

So that's about it. Just work your ways around. Do stuff for free, apply everywhere, get your name through, people are going to notice you getting your hands dirty and are going to pick you above all the other Media students doing nothing but holding up their degrees.
