Sounds like something happened to your Office install. It got unregged somehow or it's missing some important components. Try tossing the disc in when it asks.
*sigh* another computer problem...
I keep getting this windows installer pop up and then Norton AV 2005 tells me to uninstall and reinstall. I uninstalled and reinstalled.
I dont know what it is trying to install. But everytime I reboot, I get this message on startup or when I open up Windows Office program. When i uninstalled and reinstalled NAV, I didnt have anymore problems but when I rebooted, it started to come up again.
Anyone know anything about this?

Hmmm...I just installed Office XP and the same problem happened.
OK, its not Office XP Professional 2003. I tried to repair it..still problems. Uninstalled it completely and reinstalled..still problems. Maybe its Norton AV?
Welp, seems to me its the AV. I uninstalled it and no installer on bootup and opening of Office. Whats a good AV program?

I had this happen when I moved the Norton SystemWorks folder shortcuts
out ofthe Programs group and into another folder that I call
Utilities. With this version of SystemWorks, you must leave it where
the installer places it."
AVG free edition. There are a bunch of people here using it. Nice small footprint too.Originally Posted by bandit

Thanks I did a search and saw that in one of the threads. I was going to go for that if I couldnt get NAV2005 working properly.Originally Posted by stormy
Go to the following URL: http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;290301. Download Windows Install Cleanup. It will list all programs that use Windows Installer. Select from the list those programs for which you are getting the Windows Installation popup. Click remove, and then reinstall the same programs (if you still want to use them). The Remove button does not remove the program. It removes the install configuration. It worked for me! Good luck! Now I have to go to all of those other online forums where messages about this same problem are posted. :-)
