Thread: EA acquires DICE.

  1. I actually don't like BF1942
    o_O

  2. "Please, find for me in that post where I asked why nobody is playing Battlefield 1942. Also, try telling me where I even said its a good game."

You're so transparent. There's been at least a dozen instances where you have said "Oh TNL should be playing this but because they're worthless and not as cool as me, they aren't". So go back to playing Evil Genius or whatever recently-released crap game that people are (uncoolly) not playing.

  3. So, uhh EA bought Dice umm.. Man , another flame thread starring Joust and Diff

    Go figure.

  4. Yes, because there is oh so much that can possibly be discussed about this that hasn't been in thirteen other threads.

  5. Anyway, I read on IGN that Battlefield 2 is going to slip from its March date and be released a couple months behind schedule. Kinda blows, but hopefully they can use the extra time wisely and hopefully release a game where the classes are actually balanced( unlike Battlefield Vietnam)

  6. I'm sure the 60 employees that EA just laid off from their Los Angeles Studio appreciate all the cash their former employer has been blowing lately.

January 26, 2005 - In what may come as surprising announcement to those that have been following the company's big moves lately, Electronic Arts today laid off 60 staff members from its Los Angeles office (EALA). Though EALA houses music and mobile production teams, the cuts primarily affected EALA's game development studio.

IGN spoke with an EA spokesperson, who explained that the layoffs are intended to streamline the studio in order to become a next-generation development force. EALA general manager Neil Young, who joined took the position September, supervised the reorganization.

Head count in the studio division is now about 320, down from 380 employees. EALA as a whole now employs about 365 people.

While the EALA studio was most recently working on GoldenEye: Rogue Agent and Medal of Honor: Dogs of War, the EA spokesperson emphasized that the layoffs did not target specific title teams, nor are any game schedules affected by the cuts.
