  4. Hey guys thought I'd drop in to let you all know that for the past year, in addition to the www.themetalpigeon.com blog I'm also co-hosting a podcast called the MSRcast on the Metal Injection network. Its available on iTunes, all the podcast apps and directly at http://www.metalinjection.net/category/podcasts/msrcast

Its a long running show (nearly 10 years now) but I've only been on board since April of 2014 I believe, but I've notched a lot of episodes since then and we've changed the show's format from largely playlist oriented to about 70% talk 30% music in order to make it more interesting. Its also geared towards an emphasis on informed discussions about metal (releases, topics, etc) rather than the typical metal podcast/vidcast drunk idiots sitting around microphones talking about what Metallica album is best. We actually try in other words. Anyway, I know I don't stop in here a lot, doesn't seem like anyone else does either ---- but for those of you who happen to see this message, check my stuff out!

  6. The new Satan album "Atom by Atom" is up for streaming:

    http://listenable-records.bandcamp.c...m/atom-by-atom

It's another strong effort from them.

I like it a little better than 2013's "Life Sentence," which is also still up for streaming:

  7. Destroyer 666's new CD "Wildfire" is up for streaming on their bandcamp page:

    https://destroyer666.bandcamp.com/album/wildfire

It's a lot more heavy metal and a lot less death/black metal compared to their older albums.

Gorguts also posted a preview track from their new album "Pleiades' Dust" that's coming out in May:

I hope their upcoming CD has less of those soft post rock bits that really slowed down Colored Sands.

  8. My yearly drop in to recommend the new Myrath album "Legacy", great prog-tinged metal with traditional Arabic melodies. They're from Tunisia, part of what's being referred to as Oriental metal (I'm sure Edward Said enthusiasts would have a problem with that tag). They're kinda like Orphaned Land but with totally clean vocals.

The brits will literally fill a stadium for anything.
