I'd really like to pick up the new Moonsorrow, but funds are tight until the first.

I know. I heard it.![]()

I'm so desperate for some new death metal that I'm actually kind of looking forward to the new Nile album.
What's wrong with Nile?
Karl Sanders lives right near me. I've talked to him about the new record, and he says it's ridiculous fast.
In the mean time check this out: Rune - The End of Nothing

The new Mithras (in all likelihood) remains a must if you haven't already heard it.
I can't think of anything else released in recent months that's done something worthwhile within the death metal mold.
I’d keep digging through the genre’s relics instead (been doing quite a bit of this myself, actually).
Some recent favorites:
Ras Algethi - Oneiricon - The White Hypnotic
Ceremonium - Into the Autumn Shade
Master – Unreleased 1985 Album, On the Seventh Day God Created...Master, Collection of Souls
Molested – Blod Draum, Stormvold
Miasma - Changes
Utumno – Across the Horizon
Thou Shalt Suffer – Into the Woods of Belial
Intestine Baalism - Anatomy of the Beast
Lots of things:
The fact that, musically, they've been stuck on repeat since "Black Seeds of Vengeance."
The high degree of filler and inconsistencies that get scattered across a typical Nile record, most of which have no more than two or three truly worthwhile tracks.
Their continued focus on artificial aspects of the music (speed, technicality, heaviness, etc.) instead of trying to improve their many, more pertinent problems.
My time was split between san francisco and its surrounding areas across the bay, and folsom california. never had heard of aquarius records, damn, i wonder if it was fairly close to amoeba.
Hmm metal wise, hmm what am i looking forward to? New kamelot should be good, new orphaned land, but thats going to be awhile so i can keep waiting for that one. =(
Adramelech - Psychostasia -- A little Demilich hidden in there, which makes the rest seem slightly typical, but high quality overall. Need to check out Slumber of Sullen Eyes again.
I just dug out my Paria -Misanthropos record. No one knows who this band is, and they could tear the face off most metal being put out recently.
