Thread: Quitting smoking

  1. Ahhh, the power of pussy.

  2. I like to drink and smoke when I'm at home. When I'm working on the road, I'm usually too busy to do such things. I suggest you try changing your routines, when you are at home. It's a start and can lead to a change of habit, when it comes to smoking.

  3. Alright it sounds stupid but it really works, i used to smoke over a pack of reds a day and then i quit cold turkey, felt like shit but then whenever i got the urge i would eat a whole pack of bubble yum watermelon in my mouth at once and the urge went away, its been 3 years and im still smoke free. I quit pot 2 weeks ago but thats a whole other story.

  4. gum chewing works for a ton of people, but make sure its sugarless or you get teh cavities!

Today was bad, sickness and sudden and completely random violent shaking for short periods of time and the actual cravings for my cigarettes have started to set in, at least I've been getting up to go have a cigarette and remembering that I quit. I've weighed out the patch and the gum and all that other shit and I'm just gonna do this completely conventionally, I'm fully confident that I won but it's still not a fun experience.

Anyone with helpful suggestions or similar experiences?
This is going to sound stupid, but don't EVER EVER have another cigarette. I quit for three years and got sucked back into the circle by having a few socials. The first one can drag you back in, it's THAT addictive.

Edit - get the patch, it works.

  6. Take 2 hits of acid, and smoke about 3 packs in a 3 hour period. Worked for me, I was violently ill for 2 weeks, and just the thought of a cigarette would make me vomit. Haven't had one for almost 8 years.

I tried it with sugarless, didnt work as well, unfortunately i paid for it with getting 8 cavities filled but id rather have cavities than black lungs.

I am the exact opposite, I can't quit cigarettes, but I have had to stop smoking weed numerous times, and it just wasn't difficult at all.

    Whoa, best...idea...ever...!

Someone furthur up mentioned using Wellbutrin (for quitting smoking it's called Zyban, but they are the same exact drug), and it supposivly works really really well. Both of my parents quit smoking after like 20 years (4 years ago) through using Wellburtin.

  9. Things are going good, I'm finally not feeling all that sick (although it's still definately there) and I think my mind is close to letting it go, in a way this was real easy to beat and in another way it was real hard. I've been avoiding "socials" now because I know what they could be like, especially now, the big thing will be avoiding them a little while down the line when I'm no longer a "smoker" because I'd still consider myself one.

this is so true for my gf. she smokes only when she goes out, is at her friends house or is sitting around bored. she stopped for 2 weeks (because she was working thirds, had no stress and couldnt go out or see her friends), but the moment she went out she saw her friends doing it, is back at it. she never smokes when im around. i cant stand it. both my parents do it and my mom is probably days away from a breathing apparatus. ive tried it maybe 4 times and its always been when i was smashed. sorry but tight lungs for days after isnt something i could really want to get addicted to. i mean theres nothing there that says "smoke again". but like the others in this thread i dont get addicted to things. its just the way i am.
