Thread: Replacing audio in a video file

  1. Replacing audio in a video file

Ok, I got these videos of a band playing live, but the audio is fucking awful (cam mic near the stage = evil distortion). I want to sync it up with an audio bootleg I have.

Any ideas on how to do this?

  2. I'm not sure if these rules apply on a PC, but on a Mac you can use QuickTime to seperate the audio and video tracks of certain movies and then replace the audio on a movie. What format is the movie file in?

Another alternative is send it to me and I'll sync it up in iMovie.

  3. with replacing the audio, do I have to snip it to the same length first? or can I just lay the longer audio file over the video and then trim it back?

  4. If it's just Quicktime, you'll have to take note of when it should start in the video and then snip the audio first.

  5. gah, what a pain in the ass.

the audio os from a completely different show, so its gonna be tedious work...
