Thread: Nintendo: The truth?

  1. Nintendo: The truth?

IGN just posted up this interview with Reggie from Nintendo, and it was informative to say the least, that is if he isn't exaggerating in typical Nintendo style. If everything he says is true, maybe Nintedo DOES know what they are doing, and Iwata is just a nutjob.

  2. That wasn't especially informative. Basically the whole thing was "WAIT TIL E3!" And I'm beginning to wonder just what this new innovation could be for the Revolution. A film professor of mine, who used to write game guides and such, predicts a karaoke machine, and fuck, I wouldn't be surprised.

  3. The only thing surprising about this interview (I read it 20 minutes ago on GAF) was that he blatantly said that there will be online specific news for the DS. Have they ever come out to say they will actually support any type of online network for their consoles?

There was that point he made about online DS, which is good news to those who would use the feature. Also, Mario 128 will be at E3 in VIDEO form, chances are it isn't Mario 128 anymore, but Mario 'Revolution'.

Yeah, but for some reason, that just doesn't excite me. Think about it: many are already paying for Microsoft's XBL service, so unless Nintendo's plan is like Sony's, where the hardware is sold to us and third party game developers choose the online system in which the games operate, I don't think I'll be dumping more cash into online gaming.

  6. meh.. i've been "waiting for E3" since like 2002.
MK2 on XBLA plz - let the unfolding of gameplay begin!!

"Waiting for E3" is TNL's version of "Chasing Amy."

My guess, is that the Revolution will be online, but the online games will incorporate connectivity style gaming, with the DS. So, instead of having 3 friends come over and plug their DS units into the Revolution, they'll instead plug the DS into their console at home and play with other DS users across the network.

  10. All nintendo needs to do is give me Mario Kart online and they can have my $$.
