Actually, I think it's really just my aunt. I don't think my Grandma knows she's being used as a bait like that.

  2. That's some dark side trickery right there.

  3. I know. I'm going to give my Dad a call and my aunt will be like, "Your rebel friends have run right into a trap. Oh yes, I foresaw their pithy attack." !!!

  4. If your mom and dad aren't married or in a relationship, he can do whatever he wants.

That said, there's no reason he can't help with the refi payments from where ever he is. Your mom should sue him over this. If they had a verbal contract/agreement over the refinance process, that should give her some leverage? I don't know what the laws in California are, nor am I a law student, but I would look into it if I were you.

  5. My dad has screwed my mom over a lot but he always made sure that her and I were taken care of finincially, even when he was remarried. My dad has made a lot of bad desicions but he's not a bad man, sounds like your dad did something real fucked up though. Leaving someone is one thing, leaving someone with a shitload of debt they accumulated because of you is another.

  6. Horrible. He needs to own up and put forth what he said he would put forth, on matter where he lives. Your mom should sue so they can garnish his vending machine quarters.
    All is well.

  7. Mike, I feel for ya, bro. My dad was an asshole too.

Your pops needs a good telling off, or if that doesn't work, a nice beatdown.

  8. Good you guys dug the thread up.

I talked with my dad the other night and he told me that my mom was probably overreacting and whatnot. Said he wasn't sure about what he was doing but that it wasn't likely the bank was going to give him the loan to buy the business. So, by April 23, he'll be going back to CT and either getting his stuff or staying. Either way, he'll be helping my mom make the refi payments.

  9. Good man, so he's not the asshole I labled him to be earlier.
    All is well.
