Sweet, 4 is tolerable at best, but I really liked 5. Summer release is a ways away, but it gives me time to finish off this pile of shame.

Do you mean you want unlimited continues? Or straight up balls to the wall limited continues that makes you fucking know the game like your own dick? (a.k.a. the way it should be)

I just want continues that don't start you back at the beginning of the level each time. Those suck.

Agreed. I think it somewhat defeates the purpose of it being a port of an Arcade game. Something like Ikaruga or Mars Matrix would be cool, with points that can buy items or special features, including continues.

Exactly, that's what I was talking about.
I have a one-credit syndrome with action games, anyway. I want to beat the thing on unlimited continues once, but afterwards I go one credit through for the rest of the time. S'the way I play Metal Slug, DoDonPachi, Guilty Gear X2, etc in the arcades. Clash is right, it helps you know the game. S'waht I'm going for, really.
So, no, I don't want unlimited continues so I can blaze through the game four times and say "ZOMG I BEAT IT FOUR TIMES N00B!!!!!1111forty-five11" I want the unlimited continues that don't start me at the beginning of the level so I can screw around with the game when I'm not going for high scores. To this day, I still can't get through that last level on MS3 thanks to that shitty continue system. That last boss requires way more than the one credit I have left when I get up to it.
