After having a horrid time moving around in Mario 64 DS, I don't see how using the stylus or thumbpad would be an effective way to move the Katamari around.
I'm not especially fond of the game, but i thought a few of you would be interested.

Right, because Katamari Damacy and Mario 64 have the same control scheme...
You'd roll the ball around with the stylus, doesn't seem too tough to figure out.
The tank-like controls are a major aspect of the game. Directing where the katamari goes with a stylus would really harm the game. I hope this turns out well as I love KD, but I'm not too excited yet.
Why not just use the buttons on the right as a second d-pad and preserve the dual-stick control-scheme? I hope that if they use the stylus they do so with a good reason.
Why not pull a stylus & thumbstrap thing? Both simultaneously on the bottom screen to control it like the PS2 version.
I think controlling the Katamari with the touch screen seems only natural. I'm interested in seeing how it turns out.

The touch screens I'm familiar with can't do that. They average the distance between the furthest points of contact to register a hit in the middle of that area. For example, hitting the screen on the middle right and on the middle left at the same time results in the screen registering a hit at the very center of the screen. Maybe nintendo's screen driver is that advanced, but I doubt it.Originally Posted by ChaoofNee

You would be putting too much pressure on the hand that uses the thumbstrap to hold the DS if you were also using the stylus. Besides, the screen is too small for both a thumbstrap and a stylus. It wouldn't work.Originally Posted by ChaoofNee
Now that I think about it, you could move the ball with the stylus (if it's programmed right), but you'd have to change the game to a bird's eye perspective to make it easy to move the Katamari in any direction. That way, you wouldn't even have to worry about manipulating the prince to roll the ball in the right direction.Originally Posted by Chux
