The system came out yesterday. You may want to wait at least a week to start making rash demands...Originally Posted by marwan

I installed PSP Video9 and ran it. It was pretty easy to use and the speed was good. I copied the video files (mp4 & thm) including the directory 100MNV01 to PSP, but PSP won't recognize the track. I also tried copy the files to the root and that didn't work neither. Any suggestion?
You must be doing something wrong. I've encoded a few movies w/o any difficulty.
Regardless what the format is, PSP Video 9 can convert it to a recognizable format. It will only be picked up if it's in the proper directory. Send me a link to to where I can find the file and I'll give it a shot.
You're suppose to place the file in this.. "(psp drive): \PSP\MP_ROOT\100MNV01\insert files"Originally Posted by AH
Anybody know of a good program to convert HDTV .ts files to something that easily converts to PSP mp4? I've been attempting to get HDTV2Mpeg to work, but it has been failing me...

Yes, I know that but I mean elaborate on what type of file it is. I never heard of it. What is the file extension (i.e. .jpg, .mpg, etc.)Originally Posted by perkyskirt
Seems like a movie, file you want.
here is a way to convert DVDs to PSP format.
get http://www.dvddecrypter.com/
insert your DVD in the Drive and rip the DVD in .ifo format(make sure it's one .ifo and not multiple)
then get http://www.shareup.com/dvd-to-mpeg.html
load up your .ifo and convert it to mpeg1 or mpeg2. this is a demo, so if anyone knows where i can get the cracked version please let us knowalso for some reason the playback is skiping, is this a part of the demo thing?
when done, load up the mpeg through Video9, convert and enjoy your the movie on your PSP.
i'm still experimenting with it, so far ive had good results with decent video quality.

Frame rate would suck. If you want something decent with smooth framerate and sound, expect the file to be 350MB-500MBOriginally Posted by marwan
I'm really thinking that this is going to be a great system for emulation - seems to be an easy way to get them launched, and a super easy way to get them onto a memory card and into the system in the first place.
This is making me very excited.
And, not that any of you really care, but I'm off tonight to try to get a USB cable suited for the PSP so that I can start joining in the fun. Damn do I wish my 512MB card would get here already.

It's an in-joke. Just put it on your PSP and don't ask questions.

OK here we go. I have perfected the technique and it is AWESOME!
1) I record a HD Widescreen movie or program using my Comcast/Microsoft DVR.
2) I make a digital recording in real-time using DVHS and the Japanese drivers. This creates the .ts stream.
3) I use Moonlight ][muxer (Xmuxer) to demux the file into AC3(Audio) and ts(video).
4) I use the same program to remux both files into a Mpeg2 video (with sound).
5) I use iPSP (I think that is the one I use) to convert the video.
6) I manually change the Thumbnail to something appropriate.
7) I put the files on the PSP using My Computer/Explorer.
Easy as Pie. I will probably write an app to do everything in one step, that way it won't take me checking to see which step I need to do while I watch TV. If anybody has a similar setup and wants the program, let me know.
Its in the veterans thread under skins and bones. You'll find a thread about jap girls playing with eels and making them fly..in a way!Originally Posted by shidoshi

EDIT: And I just wanna say, sorry for the multiple mem stick questions, I just want to be as careful as possible.
OK, for future reference when I have enough cash, will the below 1 gig memory stick work fine with my PSP. I'm a bit confused because the seller says it comes with a "memory stick adaptor" yet says it "works with anything with a memory stick slot." So to put this in my PSP would it have to go in some clunky converter thing?

Yes, that is what PSP uses. The adaptor he is talking about, is for you to be able to use the pro duo like a regular memory card in other devices and in the reader.Originally Posted by Dylan1CC
Here is how it looks (the pro duo is inserted at the bottom)

One adapter works for all pro duo cards.
Yes, and make sure you click on the version I uploaded near the end of thread. It has bonus alternate ending footage.Originally Posted by bandit
Try using iPSP to convert it. The program converts .mov files. I tried converting the .avi file but the codec is wrong and I'm unable to.Originally Posted by perkyskirt
Sweet, I can't wait to watch movies on my PSP. Right now I'm downloading MST3K "Operation Double 007." I have never seen it before, it stars Sean Conner's brother. lol Gonna save it for when I have a 1 gig stick and go on a road trip.
EDIT: Sean Connery's brother I mean.![]()
