I have no idea what the hell promiscuous mode is... My wireless card sees my psp when it's on, and our wireless network also, but I have my land line being used as my primary gateway.Originally Posted by cka

Right.
You are not funny. Got it.
Why the FUCK did he post it in both PSP threads?

Maybe you should stick to just one, Marwan.
See, I saw that last night and thought I was just seeing shit, guess I wasn't.
ok i finaly got my javo screen protector, opened up the box and peeled of the protector after wiping/cleaning my PSP for an hour. Lemme just say no matter how well you clean the darn thing you will always end up with a few dust particles that will come out of no where. word of advice, if you are OCD....DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSTALL A SREEN PROTECTOR!!!yes i have a very mild form of OCD, and installing this thing took me like an hour, i was so damn anal about aligning the protector with the screen it literally dove me mad and made me scream. I went over it a few times and it drove me nuts, not only that but the more you apply and remove it, the more you'll end up with shit under t, let alone your fingers getting stuck in the protect which also causes more shit to show up!
an installation card was provided to press on the protector as your installing it, i personally didn't like it and had better luck using my finger to run over the sheet to make sure i get no bubbles.
i couldtn get all the dust bits from the screen protector, so i decided to get one of those coat rollers and roll it over the protector to remove some of the particles, which worked, but it wasnt perfect. an hour later i succesfully managed to allign the protector the way i wanted it *phew*
the screen part was good, but the protector from the dpad and buttons side was ok, there were some bubbles that i could not get rid of from the edges, running your fingers threw causes the screen to lift a bit making the edges not as tighly sealed.
anyways, after all this agony, i finally fired up the PSP....the protect is NOT clear, it has that matt texture look, a bit frosty, so the PSP screen didnt look as good or as sharp when the protector is wasn't applied. frankly that dissapointed me since i felt i wasnt getting the most out of the PSP screen. also the screen did *minimize* glare/reflection but i wouldnt call it "anti-glare" since i still saw my spotlights on the screen.
to cut through the chase, i was dissapointed by the Javo protector, i had such high hopes for it but i was left wanting more. luckily the screen is washable, so i will wash it today and try again to see if i would get better results. if not, i will keep it and order some other brand, i will either go for a screen only screen protector since they are easier to apply, or go for this one...
http://shop.brando.com.hk/bwpspscreenprotector.php
which looks much better than the javo one, it's also a 2 piece protector(i have no clue where the 2nd piece goes)
i will post pictures of my PSP with the javo screen protector when i get home from work.
also, non screen protector related, check out this PSP video site...

marwan: all you need to do is get a small strip of scotch tape to remove dust/lint off the screen protector. very simple, painless process.
Anyways, this is why I told you to get the Hori. Next time listen to me! ;p

anyways i'll get the brando one and the hori and see which one i like the most.
is the Hori one clear or a bit frosty? also did you try removing it to see if it left any sticky substance on the screen?
I figured you'd already have removing sticky substances from your PSP down to a science by now.Originally Posted by marwan

notice the matt/frosty texture.
It's matte, and looks nice. I'd love it if those things weren't a requirement when buying a $250 gaming system. Plus, isn't the PSP supposed to be shiny as Hell? The matte finish negates that quite a bit.

The hori is able to do that since the bottom part that sticks to the screen isnt a sticker. It uses static. So using tape wont stick to the filter.Originally Posted by bahn
The hori is clear. very clear. Its like you never even put anything on the PSP. The hori doesnt leave sticky substance as its not a sticker or uses glue. It uses static to adhere to the screen. I used tape and it didnt stick. It was like putting tape on a plastic sheet. I removed all dust particles, even took the whole thing off and reapplies and it still stuck. Tape is your best friend. Use it to eliminate fingerprints and to remove dust and to even lift up the filter with ease.Originally Posted by marwan
I'll take pics of it when I get home unless bahn beats me to it.

i went ahead and ordered the Hori screen protector, and the Barando ultra clear one. Andwhile i was at it, i got this to pamper my PSP...
i will try the other screen protectors and see which suits me best.
EDIT: also one thing i dont like about the javo screen is that if you noticed at the bottom part of the PSP screen, on each sides there are two holes which i think are the mics, when the javo is applied it only covers half of the holes giving it that bubble look...annoying!

Edit: bandit summed everything up perfectly. So there you have it -- now quit being paranoid and get one... ;pOriginally Posted by marwan

The mics are on the bottom of the system between the serial code barcode.Originally Posted by marwan
and calm down with this whole screen protector thing. We don't need to know ever last bit of information.
I got the Hori protector and the Intec protector (don't get it), and the Hori is extremely clear, leaves no marks, etc etc just like Bandit says. It's awesome, I hated having to worry about the screen all the time.
I thought there is no mic. And why are we talking about accessories in here when there is an accessories thread?
Because Marwan posts shit everywhere.
Yeah, we really should start restricting him to one post a day so he won't post the same goddamned post in 3-4 different threads.Originally Posted by Chux

Yeah. So if someone did that, they'd be really stupid instead of just stupid.
Anyone have any advice for breaking protection on a WMV file? I am testing out the conversion on movie trailers, but I am being foiled by the protection schemes.
I read somewhere that you can work around the protection that you get from Napster. I'll see if I can find it. Requires some work tho. Maybe it will work on wmv files?Originally Posted by Yoshi
Here is something I found
Link on how to do it. http://blog.kordix.com/marv/archives/000400.htmlif you install Winamp along with the Output Stacker plug-in you can convert those protected WMA files to WAV files
Well, since the title includes Game Saves in it, I'll ask about my problem here.
I sswitched to a SanDisk 512MB card, formatted it, and everything works great. Music and movies and stuff.
Lumines is shitting itself. It resets every time I play! On the 32MB card I never once got this following message after playing Challenge mode and completely a new hgih score and new skins. I get it fairly often now.
"Load game save data?" 'This will over-write your existing data.'
Whether or not I hit yes or no, I lose my last scores (and all other scores) but my profile of name and icon stay. If I try to make a new character, this disappears.
After challenge mode, it says 'NOW SAVING' across the bottom as normal.
What the shit is going on? I have to write down my high scores and can't keep new skins. I already deleted the game save data and started over but I'm still getting this. Is something just not saving properly or what? o_-

I never formatted my SanDisk and can save without any difficulty. Good thing I didn't go down that route.
