Try reformatting the memory stick. Also, try saving again with the 32MB and see if it still happens.

I just don't see what that will accomplish. The 32 is fine, and the stick was freshly formatted. That, and deleting the first data should have made for a second fresh start.Originally Posted by bandit
Wipeout Pure is fine.
I deleted once again and started over, turned the unit off completely (I've been using sleep mode a lot) and it seems to be happier now. It kept my last score and the quick skins I unlocked from Versus CPU mode...
Here is a way to make your .mp3 files 1/5 the size of the original but might loose a little quality:
I have found a way to make the MP3s of your favorite music about 1/5 smaller, yet have great quality, so you can store 5 times more music on your PSP! Hope you guys like this tutorial! I've worked a bit trying to figure out which options to use.
First off, you can use any major music program like Sound Forge to do this, but I have found a way around for a freebie, for the people who do not want to buy the programs.
1) Download this program called, GoldWave. I have uploaded it to my file space.
http://www.gamegoer.com/mobiledeviant
At that link, download the gwave510.exe and lame_enc.dll. The dll is required.
2) Install GoldWave using gwave510.exe. Then copy the lame_enc.dll to the install directory.
(CProgram Files\GoldWave)
3) Get your MP3s ready. Start GoldWave, and go to File->Open. Then open up your MP3 files. Next, just go to File->Save As. On the bottom, below where you put your filename, there will be a drop bar, where you can choose the quality. Choose this quality and save the file anywhere you want.
(Layer-3, 32000 Hz, 40 kbps, mono)
4) When I saved a 5.54MB file with that quality, it came to about 1.15MB. That is about 1/5 of the original size!
5) Do more files, and enjoy!

But they're mono...
Still sounds good to me.

While it doesn't sond horrible, I'd rather take the hit spacewise.
I'd doubt you'd be able to tell on the psp, unless you used headphones.
I'm not no audiophile whore who has to have the best quality. Yes, it needs to be at least good enough for me. I personally dont hear a difference maybe bass or whatever but I'm not no audiophile personOriginally Posted by Cowdisease
Right now, all I have is the 32MB. Well 2 of them as a matter of fact. I'm waiting for my 512MB which will have movies and when I get my 1GB, that will be used for movies and he 512 will probably be used for music or movies.Originally Posted by Chux
i don't remember where the post with the "multiplayer using 1 umd" is, but there's a sony commercial showing it off as an actual function and not a hack. the commercial is short and doesn't really show much except that the PSP Namco Collection supports it.
http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000390039127/
and the korean web browser is a paid service that'll offer on demand features like movie, music, manwha, and e-books.

Nice. The 1 UMD thing was posted in the PSP Launch thread if you're curious. Its probably a feature for the Namco Collection as how it is for GBA games (Mario Kart)..but with these launch games, I guess you could say its a "hack"?Originally Posted by Ashen Victor
If the Korean PSP is a paid service, ours is definitely going to be a paid service.

btw, got my Hori screen, much better than the crappy javo one. the Hori is much easier to apply and it's so clearyou cannot tell if it's there or not!
only thing is, it's not anti glare like they state on the package...no big deal though![]()
If its anti-glare, it wouldnt be as clear and would be cloudy.Originally Posted by marwan
What, are you using your PSP like a transistor radio? Who in the world would be listening to MP3s on the PSP without using headphones?Originally Posted by Chux
Not necessarily. We probably wouldn't have the full service, like they do. Plus, different markets require different pricing. Where they can get away with the paid service in Korea, Americans might not be as accepting of such a thing.Originally Posted by bandit

i just want a darn browser in my PSP, i dont care for downloading movies/MP3s.
The 1 UMD works with Twisted Metal. Did it while I was in class.
Its a hit or miss tho. Tried unlimited time and it was no good but did 10 mins and my classmate and me were able to play.
You bought Twisted Metal.Originally Posted by bandit

No my classmate did
It seems to work only with a time limit instead of setting it to unlimted time that has been mentioned online
Then read the "Accessories" thread, I provided instructions on how to get that setup...should hold you over until SCEA officially realizes their own brand via firmware.Originally Posted by marwan

I took it for a spin on a roadtrip a little over a week ago, and not only was it so cool to be watching Mystery Science Theater in a car on a portable game system but it is also now one of my favorite episodes. It made the car ride breeze by. I apoligize for the poor picture and color quality of these shots, it's mainly due to my cruddy 4 year old webcam, light reflection and the fact it's a 770 MB VCD/mpeg2 file I sized down to 170 MB so I could fit it on my 256 MB stick. That said, for a B quality vid file it still looks great on the PSP, looks much better than what these pics show. Anyways, here are some pictures of my PSP running "Operation Double 007." A highly recommended episode if you're a MST fan, I plan on burning it to VCD so I can watch it with some friends soon:
Beginning of the show. Close up of Crow in front of camera while Joel, Tom and Gypsy watch some home movies:
Dr. Forrester taunting Joel before the invention exchange:
Joel smarts off to Dr. F:
Crow's invention, the "Bobbing vulture" used to clean up left over meat. haha
Dr. F strangling Frank (as usual):
"Starring" Neil Connery:
Whoo boy, and you thought Elektra was a bad franchise spin off idea:
Ladies and gentleman.....Neil Connery in the role of a lifetime (or literally, THE role of his lifetime heh heh)!

The Korean browser thing is a paid service for a couple of reasons. One, you can only use it if you are a member of a certain broadband internet provider. New services means more costs. Second, it has On Demand movies and music. That will probably have a monthly fee plus a seperate fee for each download. I'm sure SONY is most likely going to do the same thing here, except you won't have to be a member of Comcast or SBC or whatever to use it. It'll probably just have the On Demand as an option, or something similar to it.
By far, the most creative use for a PSP I've seen to date.
The Kitchen Timer.
Basically, it's a set of 3 mp4 movies that display a simple countdown timer, with a status bar and a cute character that announces the time remaining at 1 minute intervals.
According to the site, the guy made these so he could tell when his cup of ramen was ready to eat. There are 3, 4, and 5 minute versions.
Simple extract them and toss the MP4 and THM files onto your memory stick in the /MP_ROOT/100MNV01 directory. Thumbnails are included.
3 min timer
4 min timer
5 min timer
Source
Screw the kitchen timer!!! Wheres the damn NES emulators?![]()

I have a dvd ripped to my hd, but now there are about 6 files each with about 4 music videos in each file. What software could I use to edit the video and split up each music video into its own file? Something cheap or free would be nice.

· Save Flash File > Flash to Video <-- Use the first link to save the flash file to your computer. Dont need to look for .swf file no more. Then use the second link to save the flash file to video. After you did that, use one of the programs above to convert the file to .mp4.
