where is a good place online where i could buy a 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo for a good/cheap price?
sparco has them for $108..
however, they just got tons of the 1GB in on 4/21/05 but i believe those were still filling backorders for them. but the next shipment is expected next week.. around 4/26
here's a link...

I'm still waiting for my two 1GB ($95 each w/free shipping!) from dell.com. ship date was suppose to be today (22nd) but no confirmation.
Dell just bumped the ship date of my 1GB Duo from the 22nd (I ordered on the 7th) to the 29th. DAMMIT!

btw, HI-SPEED is not compatible with PSP right? meaning it would work but it won't run the transfer rate any higher than the pro duo cards...right?
HI-SPEED should work. All it is is a faster transfer rate. Why pay extra for that? I heard you barely even notice the transfer rate. I rather have a slower transfer rate then pay $50 or whatever the difference is. I can wait the extra 5 mins or so.
do you know what the transfer rate is for HI-SPEED and Pro?
any ol memorys tick will do, hi speed is more for high end digital cameras ect. nothing the psp will take advantage ofOriginally Posted by marwan
No. Just buy a damn Pro Duo and use it. And post it the right thread.Originally Posted by marwan

You're both nuts.
smiley
umm!! what the fuck!? I downloaded the trailer for Cars and its a girl rollerblading around topless!!! ?!?!?!
You say that like it's a bad thing.
I'm thinking about making a little Japanese "helper" set of images for the PSP. I haven't decided what to do with the kanji yet, how to have it sorted (the PSP can only sort images by date, BOOO), and what to do about the fact that the PSP can't handle image names that are in Japanese. (Or maybe it just can't read the version of unicode that OSX uses.)
But here's a little sample of what I was thinking about doing.

Nice idea, the Kanji cheats would be beautiful... although do you really need a hiragana/katakana chart, it's not like they're that hard to memorize.Originally Posted by shidoshi

No, but after a while having learned them, sometimes you'll forget a character. I know that every now and then, I'll suddenly forget a character. I've gotten so use to writing everything on the computer that writing even simple kana can be tough sometimes.Originally Posted by bbobb
So, for times like that, as well as a helper for people when they are first learning.

That makes sense. Well as soon as you figure out the Kanji, let me know... I'm all over em.Originally Posted by shidoshi

Hey i would like www.pspgamesaves.com to the list of psp related stuff. They have pspgame saves, game reviews, and a contest for a free psp game.
Well, looks like it has finally happened.
loser has released the elf2pbp tool.
What it does is takes an elf file (a binary executable file) that has been compiled for the PSP and converts it into a PBP file which can then be run from a memory card.
Of course, with everything, there is a catch. First, you need to have a Japanese PSP. Second, you need to have NOT flashed your PSP to version 1.5.
Glad I didn't flash mine over. Once I can get some kind of cross compile environment set up, perhaps I'll give this a try.
Here's the quote:
"This tool takes an elf file compiled for psp and "converts" it into a PBP file.
You can then copy this pbp file to a subdir in "PSP/GAME" on your memcard (eg to "PSP/GAME/APP1/EBOOT.PBP")
This tool has been designed so that you could run it at the end of your makefile,
you could even set your makefile to then copy the pbp to your psp after making it
(assuming you first set your psp to usb mode).
Let the pspdev begin! "
"Ver.3
Slightly updated version of the elf2pbp tool.
The included param.sfo file is now made as simlpe and generic as i could
while it would still work. You can now also set the name of your app from the command line
eg: ebp2elf main.elf "My First Demo"
Here's the link to the file for download:
http://www.internalreality.com/elf2pbp3.zip
http://www.internalreality.com/
The ELF2PBP tool takes an ELF executable designed to run on the Sony PSP and outputs a PBP file. PBP is a filetype run from the Memory Stick Duo slot. This could very well open the floodgates to homebrew PSP development.
Not every PSP owner can begin using this utility, however. Applications created with ELF2PBP appear to only run on Japanese PSPs that have not been updated using the version 1.5 firmware.

Well, it's progress I guess.
Which date where? Like image created or image altered or what? If it's image altered you could figure out what order you wanted them in and then go through and re-save them in order just before you put them together in a pack or whatever. Rather annoying, though, and I'm not sure if that would work if sent from one system to another.Originally Posted by shidoshi

In any case, I like what you're trying to do.
Play PSP Videos on your PS2
1. ) Hook up the PSP to the PS2 via USB cable.
2. ) Boot Your PS2 With Action Replay Max EVO
3. ) Scroll Over To Media Player
4. ) Next You Need To Put Your PSP Into USB Mode.
5. ) And There You Go. Your AR Max Will Start Playing The Media
** NOTE THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH PSPS WITH LESS THEN 128MB MEMORY DUO STICK
