Thread: IIDX 9th Style

  1. Anyway I went straight through beginner mode and cleared everything on 1 try with 16 perfects, and I'm about halfway through light 7, but I needed speed mods for some. I'm...pretty bad. For now! God is it fun.
You'll need speed mods for quite a bit. I don't play outside of HS3/4 except for the insanely high BPM oddities, like Max300, and pretty much everybody considers them necessary.

Oh? It's not like the DDR community where if you use a speed mod it doesn't really count?

  3. Yea, There are no songs that I don't use speed mods on. Unlike the DDR community speed mods are not frowned upon. Hell look at most of the best players, they use speed mods and a towel.

  4. ...and a towel.
Since the question's coming up anyway.

Using a towel is basically like your own customizable Sudden mode. Sometimes, the high speed modifiers just aren't enough (even on highest), and for some reason it tends to help timing by covering up some of the field.

Helped my score on c-r-a-c-k-ER by 100+ points the first time I used it.

I wish I still had 5th style so I could play this song.

The tape popped up. Everyone put their heads together on the tiniest heaviest thing they can think of until my new mod arrives.

Or you know what, a small square piece of plastic taped down might work. Or sheet metal. But I haven't got any tiny pieces of sheet metal.

    Also fun tack.

  7. Towel is so popular, Konami's sort of adapting it as a mod into HAPPY SKY (Sudden+).

I need to play more 9th.

The DDR community can eat from my asshole. I can't get a fucking game in between their trying to AAAAAAA+A+A+ Max period blindfolded or something.
...so, I go play 6 panel on Solo instead. It's more FUN.

    ...yeah, so Beatmania...

Heh, yea. I think that DDR is probably the worst Bemani game there is (well, out of what I have played) but I do use it to excersize from time to time. I like it better as stepmania with all the many custom speed mods and the IIDX songs in it that never made it there and all the custom songs. Much better than the shit that Konami put on there. But there are very few songs that I don't use speedmods on for DDR (like the 300BPM songs). Currently I am waiting for a PS2 -> USB adaptor that does not map to the axis to come it (should be here this week).

Tain: Yea, like Remy said Towel mode is just like Sudden + or adjustable sudden. It helps me only on certian songs that I can't find the right speed mod for (like Dune and Glorious Days) or all of 5th style Some people have tons of AAAs and have never used a towel, others use towels to get As. I think it is all a matter of how you learned how to play or how well it works for you. Honestly I use a towel more for Pop'n music (8 and lower) than IIDX.

Cow: Heh, so what are you going to do overall? It sounds like you need to replace parts and what not. You just going to keep jerry-rigging it forever or...?
