Thread: Controller malfunction

  1. What part of "Urine" don't you guys get?

Pee on your controller and the buttons won't stick anymore.

  2. And stop blaming your loses on "I spilled my drink on my controller and now the buttons stick". If you're getting your ass kicked, then you're getting your ass kicked.
I thought you were gay.... i guess not.

  3. I also think that counts as dibs on the good controller.

The fact is, as long as you use water, and you let it dry COMPLETELY, it will work 100% fine, with a 0% chance of not working. Unless you are a dumbass.
Thats what I was gonna say. It's the soap that is the problem. Distilled water can't do any damage to electronics with no current in them. I'd still recomend opening up the controller to make sure it dries out completely. Heck, use a hair dryer on a light setting or low heat or whatever it's called to make completely sure. Wouldn't want anything to rust after all.

Jeremy, thats why you, y'know, make sure there isnt moisture on it.

  6. Eightbit, the hair dryer solution remedies the issue I had with the statement, as that would help to avoid rusting.

Soap works awesome on getting out sticky residue. The point is: Don't do that to the circuit board, which is what I said in the first place (what with the whole "take it apart but don't dunk the entire controller in soapy water" thing I was saying).

Then, uh, why didn't you? It was in the post you questioned me on.

  8. Use 90% alcohol. It evaporates quickly and doesn't contain much water. Don't use rubbing alcohol, as it contains mineral oil.

Videotape head cleaner, is a fine alcohol solution.

Did you throw it in the dryer after you did that?

Because I read posts too fast and didnt notice it in your first post, and by the time I read your second post, Napolm was already there with the answer. Sorry.
