It hasnt been solved because people like you are too thick-headed and stuck in your own ways and beliefs. Youre just as bad as any Bible Thumper, and as much a part of the problem.

  2. Yep.

I mean, I understand why religion was created - it was the result of traditions, rituals, and whatnot coming together, and it was also a mean created to help bring people into line as society tried to get more civilized. The problem is that religion has always been the tool of man, not God, as man controls religion, and decides how religion deals with people. Religion is at its worst at times when, for example, one man tells another that they cannot go to heaven because they aren't following the rules and traditions exactly; that decision only belongs in the hands of God.

I love religious tradition, the culture, the history, things like that, but as the means to connect people with God, it fails utterly. Man's connection to God, if you believe in God, is one of the most important things that there is, and in no way would I trust that task to another human being. I think religion actually makes things worse between man and God, and a person is in a better place with no religion and connecting with God on their own, than with the "experts" in a certain religion. Religion does try to bring with it morality and whatnot, but every one of those things it brings can be found just as easily without it - it just has the upper hand in getting people to listen because it promises consiquences if they don't.

I think it's also due to the simple fact that man has this romantic notion that the soul lives on forever, some people cannot come to terms with life just...ending, it's really just about the idea of immortality.

And I'm Agnostic by the way. It's just impossible for me to believe it 100% or to feel as if I have enough evidence to rule it out for good as well...mainly because I feel you have to be pretty damn arrogant to do either.

Theres also been about 35263576389427257 stories/beliefs about how all of this came to be and who god is told during mankind's brief history on this planet that I find it a little daunting picking which one "got it right".

Either way I look at it. I just can't feel comfortable.

There's always someone on the other side wishing for the exact same thing with their team.
