Actually, the PSP is a multimedia device.Originally Posted by James
And maybe some of us don't want the bother of having to spend a lot of time ripping our DVDs so that they will play on the PSP. Or maybe we want to have a selection of movies with us at any one time, and paying $20~$30 for a UMD, while insane, is still better than $60 ~ $100+ for another Memory Stick.
That doesn't excuse the stupid price of these things, however.

Arent video game consoles with proprietary format movies cool?
Uh, maybe not..

Well, the way I see it, if I'm going to have a UMD anyhow, why not have more ways to play it? People bitch about UMDs only being for the PSP, and then they bitch because there might be more ways to play them. If UMDs are going to exist - and at this point, that can't be changed - why not have more options for playing them?Originally Posted by Dolemite
I'd never buy a UMD-only home player. But if, say, the PS3 could play them, along with the typical stuff, why not? Or maybe have your basic DVD player have UMD support as well. More options never hurt anybody, and if somebody owns a few UMD movies due to owning the PSP, the more ways to make use of them, the better.
I am confused by your point, good sir.Originally Posted by Master
I was always under the impression that those were just VCDs. Were they actually a CD-i proprietary format?Originally Posted by Wildkat

National Treasure was a harmless, brainless, by-the-numbers action romp. It was entertaining, and while I barely remember any of it, I don't recall being offended by its badness or anything. Thus, it accomplished its task.Originally Posted by shidoshi
Kill Bill looked cool going in, but in reality sucked. So, in the great scheme of things, yeah, I'm putting National Treasure above it.
Plus, you people keep bringing up that I don't like Kill Bill but ignore the part of my post where I say I'd be willing to give the sequel a try and see if it improves the whole experience.
Even better is the toolshed scene where he flings circular buzzsaw blades like frizbees and wacks some guy right in the balls with an axe.Originally Posted by Javon_McCloud

Master's point - The PSP is a multimedia device...which doesn't excuse the high price for it.
