Thread: Official Playstation 3 Thread.

  1. I call bullshit as well, but if it were true, I would hope there'd be an option to disable as much extraneous crap as possible.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. It will all come down to their online service and how well they copy achievements.

Anyone care to bet how well they have redone their online service? Something is telling me they haven't done a thing and are repackaging PS2 online with a "this won't fool anybody" makeover.

    Thoughts?

Judging by what was announced a month or so ago, I'd say it will be pretty darn close to Live. Maybe not as good, maybe better, but I don't think they are going to go wit the same setup as with the PS2. They know they can't get away with that this generation.

Breaking "news", the PS3 is a broken piece of shit.

When asked about this apparent thumping dished out by MS, the reply from one notable ISV relations boffin was a terse 'What a Piece of Junk'. Talk about a steak in the heart.
So this guy can understand how this processor works but can't tell the difference between a stake and a steak? Grain of salt plz.

In other Sony news, the SCEA publicity chief Molly Smith has resigned her post. LoL.

Well the Inquirer is slick but yes, take what they say with a grain of salt. I remember when I was trying to nail down videocards in late 2005 they were pretty much right on.

But anyway if thats true... I dunno. Im not an engineer but I remember reading how the PS2 relied on a very fast bandwidth to move shit around. A crippled bandwidth + weak GPU = not good. We'll see.

If its true, and the system is successful, then developers will work around it and we will have "object sparse" games for the next 5 years....
