Thread: Digitylish (Nintendo DS) (GBA???)

  1. Digitylish (Nintendo DS) (GBA???)

Saw this on insercredit yesterday, and it seems like your classic "under the radar" cult game(s).

Under this line of products are displayed titles such as Coloris, Orbital, T-Typo, Dialhex, Neopong, Sneakout, Swimworm, Dotliner and Sojourner, all of which raised speculations when their names were simultaneously registered by Nintendo in early january (in the same time as Play-Yan, as this Quiter page reminds us). The graphics and concepts of the aforementioned games seem to travel back and forth from low-key to experimental, but it gives quite a unique identity to the series, as well has a reminiscent feeling of some freeware games you might have heard of on this very website. Whether these titles end up as interesting or dull in their own respect, the Digitylish series as a whole goes along well with the "trendy low-key" image Nintendo is trying to give itself with other efforts such as the GameBoy Micro and Electroplankton. You can find footage at some of the usual big E3 news sites and, by watching the video, one can notice that Kyôto-based Q Games was responsible for at least Digidrive. The Digitylish series have no release date as of yet.

I guess all the games will be released in one "compilation" called Digitylish, but since it's Nintendo, I guess anything goes...maybe they will be "downloadable"?

It doesn't look like something that would sell but I'm definitely intrigued after watching the video.

  3. looks like fun if they're all on the same cartridge, but no way i'm spending twenty bucks for each of those things. except maybe the pong.

  4. That looks awesome, I want it. That Dotliner game looks really cool.
    Barf! Barf! Barf!

  5. That had an awesome sense of style, I'd love to see something like that succeed. I agree that I'm not sure they could sell individually though.

I'm also anticipating the reviews that criticize it for not having enough cinemas or unlockable sports cars.

  6. Dotliner looks pretty hot. I'm getting a c64 vibe from these. Reminds me of the stuff I'd find while digging through my cousin's dozens of pirated games.

  7. My kind of game. I just hope it's all in one cartridge.

  8. It would have to be one cart for the U.S., they could maybe try and get away with multi release in Japan.
    Barf! Barf! Barf!

  9. Awesome, but the word "series" scares the shit out of me.
Quick zephyrs blow, vexing daft Jim.

  10. These would have to come out at super cheap price if they are released individually. How much does a DS cart even cost Nintendo anyways?
    Barf! Barf! Barf!
