I get home and this is on my answering machine:

"Hello, this an important message from EB / Gamestop, because of a shipping malfunction your copy of Gears of War will not be available until tomorrow. Be sure to call your local store before going to pick up your copy of the game."

This is, naturally, after I'd just gotten back from trying to get the game. What a load of shit.

Same thing happened to me. Fed Ex left an entire shipment in Tenn. Circuit City told me the same, Best Buy took my money.

Got my copy at best Buy this afternoon all they had left was the tin cam limited Edition. Didn't really want that but it seems like no one else in the area had it so bought it.

Right now I'm stuck pushing that stupid car that won't budge in act 2. I've died like 30 times or more since I've tried running accross but the damn zombie birds are eating me alive.

This game is kicking my ass(i'm playing on casual BTW) ,but i'm loving it!!The first time i got in my first fire fight i tried to play it like a run and gun shooter,bad idea.I found myself getting blown apart after only a few seconds,i'm starting to get the hang of it now though.I'm also loving the chainsaw,nothing better than flanking the enemy during a firefight,sneaking up while he's shooting at your pals,and chainsawing his punk ass in half.I still have yet to master the reload mini game though.So far from what i've played GOTY all the way!And to think when they first showed this game,people said it would be the next Brute Force.

After telling a good friend of mine about this for about 2 months, he managed to hype himself up for it so much that after I bought it and told him it rocked he bought a 360 and GoW today.

We played through about half of act 1 in co-op (sorry I didn't reply to you Cow, this is why) and then hit up versus. We got really lucky and picked a lobby the filled up quickly with all awesome people. Played for close to 3 hours and had a total blast. This game is so damn good looking, sounds is unreal and when you really get into it and learn the controls, it's a dream to play.

Not a hint of lag the entire time we were online too. Super easy to join games and get things going, but why you have to make a new lobby (as host) to chose different options is a total mystery to me. Biggest fault with the game so far that really should never have been let to retail release. Oh and not being able to make a team with friends for ranked games is bullshit. I hope they fix that.

The 4 vs 4 aspect works perfectly. With how the maps are designed it's the perfect amount, you don't need anymore. A few months down the line it'll be great to get new maps and if they add new modes of play and even make it 6 vs 6 or something it'll rule all over again.

I said it before, but I'll say it again: the chainsaw gun is one of the best ideas in years. Brawling with people and then tricking someone, or surprising them to get close enough to use the chainsaw is one of the greatest gaming experiences available today. I haven't been able to stick a grenade to anyone yet though. Fuck this game is so much fun.
