Thread: Good steering wheel controllers

  1. Uh-oh Good steering wheel controllers

Yeah I just got Gran Turismo 4 and I was looking at ..well...a good steering wheel controller.

Any recommendations? I don't have any experience with these. Also if the controllers support the Xbox well enough(through and adapter or whatever) that'd also be a nice plus.

  2. I got a used Logitech Driving Force wheel for my PS2 on Ebay for about $35. It works great for GT3, 4, and I also use it on Formula 1 2001 and WoO:Sprintcars...

There is a new Logitech wheel out called the Driving Force Pro, it features a lot more rotation than the DF original, but it costs quite a bit more.

  3. To take full advantage of GT4's features, the best wheel is the Driving Force Pro. It has 900 degrees of rotation (whereas most wheels have about 180 degrees) and the feedback is better than anything else for consoles.

I've no idea if it works well on Xbox--I really doubt it. But it should work fine on your PC.

  4. I enjoy my driving force wheel. I havn't tried to use the Driving Force Pro, but I heard it make racing with 45+ degree turn annoying especially Rally Races.

Has anyone been able to confirm that this works well on a PC? I have been holding off buying one, because I have almost no use for a PS2-only racing wheel.

I've used Logitech's MOMO Wheel (PC) on a PS2 perfectly fine, leading me to believe that it's probably the exact same thing (inside) as their first PS2 wheel. I'd be surprised if the DFP doesn't work with a PC.
