It's a good idea, but it's not practical. Someone like Lay never physically harmed somebody, so putting him in a maximum security prison with rapist, murderers, etc. is just taking up a spot for someone else to be there that needs to be there more.

You can put him in one of those prisons and feel safe that he won't try, and is not going to escape. Lets also not forget that these places aren't exactly a cake walk, either. They're prisons, full of criminals. He'll be taking it up the ass in the shower soon enough.

    He has a girlfriend too.

I think it's hilarious that the Who's comeback single after he got arrested was called "That's a good looking boy"

  4. Personally, I would have liked Ebbers to receive a harsher sentence because of the enormity of the fraud he committed, which was $11 billion. I would have no problem with Ebbers staying in jail for the rest of his life.

The punishment fits the crime. The earliest he will get out is 2027, and he has a huge amount of money to pay in civil cases. His wife is gonna be left with a modest home is Mississippi and $50,000 to live on. He doomed himself and his family because of his greed.

This is a far, far, far cry from the olden days when guys like Milken got a slap on the wrist and managed to keep hundreds of millions of dollars after their fraud. Its a real step forward.

Im also amazed that all these guys are using the same fucking defense - "I didnt know it was going on!". Yea, youre the CEO and you dont know about billions of dollars of fraud going on. Give me a break. Especially a guy like Shrushy, who built his company from the ground up.

Mississippi is the guy's homeland, and his company started there.

Zerohero is an idiot who cant distinguish between worthless LJ threads and news threads. 99% of his threads are the former, this one was the latter.

This sounds like the ex govenor of PR. Over 35 members of his administration are either in court or in federal jail, and his personal assistant just got 4 years for extortion and bribery, yet he swears he knew nothing of it all.

Suffice it to say, his party has lost the last two elections.

  10. wait - pete townsend? transgendered? wtf?
