Is there any way to get FF XI to work with a PSTwo?

My kid brother got a PSTwo for his birthday, and being a huge Final Fantasy nut he wants to play FF XI. I tried asking in the FFXI online thread, but that doesn't seem to get read much. I tried searching the web, but I just got a bunch of outdated press releases and moldy 2004 threads from bad forums.

Is there any kind of mod or adaptor that would let him play the game? Or is he SOL?

Short answer. No.

Longer answer. You need a hard drive to play FF 11 so he's SOL.

EDIT: If he's really hard up to play FF 11 tell him to bug his parental units for a 360 or just wait till FF 12 hits next year.

I seriously doubt he'll be getting a 360. So you mean to tell me that with all the FF geeks out there, and with all the little do-dads on the internet, nobody's come up with a hard drive adaptor for the pstwo?

He's 13, doesn't have a gaming spec PC, and his parents won't shell out the cash for a graphics card just so he can play yet more videogames. He's practically drowning in PS1, GBA & GC stuff he hasn't finished as is.

I'm talking about the it's-too-small-to-be-hard drive-comaptible PSTwo, not the original PS2.

Oh that one. I always assumed those came with a HDD already built in, in addition to the their internet readiness. I haven't even seen a PSTwo up close, so I guess I can't really help.

Nope. Sony fucked Squenix and Final Fantasy fans over big time with the redesign.

Fact is, Square had originally planned to put FF 11 on the Xbox from the get go, but development fell through on the project midway so they abandoned it.
