I can have any combination of human and CPU players in 4 ~ 8 player matches. True or false?

I know you can do 1 human vs. 7 CPU, or 8 humans, but I want to know if you can do, say, 3 humans vs. 5 CPU, or 4 humans vs. 4 CPU, stuff like that.
