I alpha and beta tested The Realm for Sierra, which was free... then they went live with the game, and wanted me to pay $50 to play it for a year, they tried to convince me that it was a deal because the game in stores would be $50, and then I'd have to pay for a year of service, which I dont' remember the price. I thought THAT was a ripoff. To me, if I've bought a game, I shouldn't have to pay to keep playing it. Bottom line. Even if I could find an MMO game that I could get into (which I haven't), I just can't justify spending money every month to keep playing it. For those of you that can, enjoy, I'm not knocking you or your decision to support that, it's just not for me.
