Thread: good emu frontend with joystick support

  1. good emu frontend with joystick support

I have an older machine I want to hook up to my tv and play some mame on. Maybe some other emulators. Ideally I want to have it boot directly into a frontend that is completely controllable by a joystick, and not have a keyboard or mouse attached. Any suggestions?

Save yourself the trouble and get an Xbox. It's possible to use a joystick as a keyboard/mouse replacement via one of the programs listed on the Free Software thread, but I don't know if it'll work.

  3. Joy2Key.exe

  4. ah cool, looks like joy2key may just be the ticket. Even exists for linux, which I may switch over to for this. I don't want to buy and mod an xbox because I want to do this for free if possible.

  5. Eh screw it. I just realized my laptop has s-video out. I can hook it up to my tv, sit it on my coffee table and comfortably pick what game I want to play from the laptop screen then play it on the tv screen. Perfect.
