Anyway, SOny has no good reason to ban the seling of these PSP's. Yoshi is right. The amounty of people shouldn't have any effect on sales.

Sony UK is doing this because it's eating their potential PSP sales. They don't get dick if Sony Japan sells a few systems, they've got to fend for themselves. With the games being regionless, people can't even argue they're getting cut out of getting certain titles.

Sony UK can still make money off European games that are put into the import PSPs. The games are where most of the money is to be made.

They'd lose out on UMD movies however due to movies being region locked. Could that be the bee in their hat? Honestly, I detest the inclusion of UMD movie functionality. When I buy a movie, I want the DVD version. Being tethered to the TV to see a movie means a better picture in exchange. I will not be buying any movies on UMD.

I don't care about watching movies on a handheld game system- it makes about as much sense to me as using a $1,000 stereo as a coffee table. Same goes for using a PS2 as a primary DVD player in my book.
