I haven't been this interested in a 2D fighter since the original Capcom vs. SNK. They actually appear to be putting a respectable effort into this one.

Two complaints-

I wish the roster was bigger, and included a wider range of characters from other obscure games.

Theres just no excuse for G Mantle not being the boss/a normal character in this game. Just no damn excuse.

Still...as TNL's resident diehard SNK fan, I'm really damn excited about this one.

You want SNK (a company stuck in the 90s), notorious for their tendency to recycle and minimalist development efforts, to do something that has yet to be done by any developer to date? (To take a 2D fighter, one that was not designed for an online enviroment, and execute it properly online. None of these even try to deal with people dropping out of games.)

(Yes, I know KoF Neowave and MotW has online services with their PS2 versions. Who knows if they are any good.)

The fanboy in me likes the idea of seeing Hotaru and Kisara in a 'new' game. I'm sure several other posters here have their own personal favorites. From what I have heard (from shaky 'other sources') is that this game is complete trash. I do not know how true this is (never having played the game myself!), but it would not shock me at all if this ended up being SvC2 (yay!... not.)

This looks fairly recycled, visually, but it still looks like more effort than SNK normally exerts.

And I am saddened by the reports that this game may be trash. I was hoping SNK could show Capcom how to do a "Fighting Evolution" game proper.

The problem is that the Capcom Fighting Jam-ish stuff IS proper... It's just nothing new. Good game, but ultimately useless. I'm getting that kind of vibe from this.

I've read a lot about this game and FXI, and nobody seems to be giving favorable impressions on either one.

I'm actually starting to hope against Garou 2 and Last Blade 3, given SNK's recent output.
