SHENMUE III MOSTLY FINISHED!!

Yes, I know we have a Shenmue III rumour thread every month, but this still gets its own thread. It's tradition.

Under conditions of strict anonymity, sources close to the development of Shenmue 3 revealed to Kikizo that the project has essentially been close to finished and 'ready' for some time - but in hibernation, pending a deal for the entire series on at least one next-gen console. Kikizo's source is authentic and reliable.

And it may come as a surprise that Yu Suzuki, father of Shenmue and perhaps Sega's most famed game creator, has had very little involvement with the project, bar the original story, which remains in tact.

Game mostly done = good, little to no Suzuki = bad. Doesn't matter. Whatever system gets this game wins, and I buy it.

According to the story, they're looking at havng the entire series, chapters 1-16, in one game. So you can probably hold off and just play it all at once.

Also good is that while Suzuki's off doing his Digital Rex thing, AM2 is still handling this game. The Kikizo story says 360 seems the mostly likely smply because the series is for sale, Xbox had II, and Microsoft is desperate for exclusive Japanese content.

I recently made a new Shenmue file and am finally playing through the whole game for the first time (dividing time between my shooters and another run through OoT), beautiful I cannot get enough. While playing through one of the missions last week I thought to myself "Such a well crafted game, too bad Suzuki will never get to tell the whole story," so this news could not have come at a better time.

Oh yeah, while recently scoring 2 Opa Opa figures from the Sega toy machine fromt he game, I thought to myself "IF they ever make another they need to put Fantasy Zone in as one of the arcade games!"

That's some good news that hopefully comes to pass.

It would totally suck to have to play each chapter on a different console with the added suckage of no save progression.

Cool! I enjoyed part 2 alot, but I hope they actually end the story with part 3 instead of dragging it out to 8 or 16 parts (which, is probably never going to happen anyway).
